Web-based NHD Update Concepts
In order to maintain the accuracy and completeness of the
National Hydrography Dataset at a 1:24,000 scale, it is
critical that the data is readily available to willing and
qualified individuals at their local desktops. Using ArcIMS
technology, it is possible to create an Internet accessible
application that will enable registered individuals to identify
and correct errors in existing data, as well as make updates
in a timely fashion online. Texas Natural Resources Information
System will demonstrate how NHD data, through an application
on the Texas Geography Network can be improved and updated
by regional experts at remote locations.
