First Consortium Meeting
Sept 20-21, 1999, Redlands California
Introduction
A first organizational meeting of the GIS in Water Resources
Consortium was held at ESRI in Redlands, California on Monday-Tuesday,
September 20-21, 1999. The meeting was convened
by Jack Dangermond, President of ESRI, and Scott Morehouse,
head of ESRI's Software Development group, and David Maidment,
of CRWR. Lori Armstrong of ESRI has been designated
by Jack Dangermond to be ESRI's point person for the GIS
in Water Resources consortium. Lori is ably assisted
by Jackie Turskey and they put on a wonderful party for
the meeting participants at Lori's home on Monday evening.
Thanks Lori and Jackie!! The meeting was attended
by ESRI staff and about 20 invited participants representing
federal, state and local government, consulting firms, ESRI
business partners, and CRWR researchers. The
agenda consisted of a series of technical presentations
and discussions describing the idea of the consortium, ESRI's
technical vision for software development, and related experiences
of the meeting participants.
