First Consortium Meeting

Sept 20-21, 1999, Redlands California

Introduction

A first organizational meeting of the GIS in Water Resources Consortium was held at ESRI in Redlands, California on Monday-Tuesday, September 20-21, 1999.   The meeting was convened by Jack Dangermond, President of ESRI, and Scott Morehouse, head of ESRI's Software Development group, and David Maidment, of CRWR.  Lori Armstrong of ESRI has been designated by Jack Dangermond to be ESRI's point person for the GIS in Water Resources consortium.  Lori is ably assisted by Jackie Turskey and they put on a wonderful party for the meeting participants at Lori's home on Monday evening.  Thanks Lori and Jackie!!  The meeting was attended by ESRI staff and about 20 invited participants representing federal, state and local government, consulting firms, ESRI business partners, and CRWR researchers.   The agenda consisted of a series of technical presentations and discussions describing the idea of the consortium, ESRI's technical vision for software development, and related experiences of the meeting participants.
