Feb 2000 GISWR Conference

23-25 February, 2000, Austin, Texas

A GIS in Water Resources Conference was held at the University of Texas at Austin on 23-25 February, 2000, to discuss development of a GIS object model for water resources to be implemented using ArcInfo 8.  A prototype water resources object model, called; the Arc Hydrology Data Model, was presented and used as a vehicle to explain the GIS object modeling process and its adaptation to the water resources field. The following listing shows the speakers for each session of the Conference and gives their Powerpoint slides, where available.

EPA Basins Training Course

During the week following the Conference, Monday Feb 28 to Friday Mar 3, CRWR is presenting the first in a series of short courses on the EPA Basins program. Basins is the most advanced system presently available for linking GIS, water quality modeling and data for purposes of formulation of Total Maximum Daily Load in rivers and water bodies.  The cost for this one-week short course is $500.  More information on the course can be found at: http://www.ce.utexas.edu/prof/olivera/basins/ Participants wishing to register for the Basins course should contact the Center for Lifelong Engineering Education at http://lifelong.engr.utexas.edu/  or by telephone at (512)471-3506.
