Introduction

This page contains materials from a graduate level class entitled GIS in Water Resources taught by Dr. David Maidment at the University of Texas at Austin.  The purpose of these exercises is to provide instruction in the use of GIS in its application to hydrology and water resources problems.  Each exercise normally takes 3-4 hours to complete.  If you don't have access to the ArcGIS software needed to do the exercises, you can still read through them and understand the nature of the analysis from the instructions and pictures presented.

Each year the students in the GIS in Water Resources course write an html term paper summarizing a piece of original investigation in the use of GIS to study water or related environmental issues. The term projects for the Fall 2002 semester are presented on this CD following the course exercises.
