Biography
Born September 27, 1979 in Woodbridge,
Connecticut, Eric attended The Hopkins School in New Haven,
CT then Tufts University in Medford, MA. Eric worked as a
water resource engineering consultant in Norwood, MA for GZA
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. from 2001 through 2005, then
completed a through-hike of the 2,175-mile Appalachian Trail
from Georgia to Maine before beginning graduate studies at
The University of Texas at Austin in August 2005.
Research
Eric’s research focuses on the growing
field of instream or environmental flows, the amount of
water left in or put back into a river system to balance the
needs of the system in a manner protective of the
environment. His work has included:

An assessment of hydrologic
alteration software (such as IHA and HAT) for use in the
Texas Instream Flow Program

stream classification system for Texas

Future work will focus on the
development of an Environmental Flows Information System
and data model as a means to store and make available
relevant data in a consistent and accessible format.
