Biography
Cédric was born and raised Marseille, France, on the
French Riviera. The proximity to the Mediterranean and his
love for water sports (swimming, surfing, waterskiing,
etc.), along with his interest in sciences, naturally
brought him to fluid mechanics and environmental
engineering. After graduating with a Master's in General
Engineering at Ecole Centrale de Lille, Cédric
decided to leave his home land and live his own American
Dream, by moving to Texas. After completing his second
Master's under the direction of Dr. Ben Hodges (thesis),
Cédric started on a new research project and is now a Ph.D.
candidate at the Center for Research in Water Resources
working under the direction of Dr. David Maidment.
Research
Cédric
is interested in hydrologic calculations (river height and
flow) on the continental-scale, using a one-way
atmosphere/land surface/ hydraulic model, using data
assimilation in the hydraulic model. His Ph.D. research is
conducted in collaboration with the National Center for
Atmospheric Research (Boulder, Colorado) and the Center for
Geosciences of Ecole des Mines de Paris (Paris,
France).
